Hello readers,

We thought it would be a good idea to introduce you all to a beverage that has been making us reach for our wallets frequently, and that is the Bubble tea.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Bubble tea or Boba as we popularly like to call it is a Taiwanese drink. Most bubble tea recipes contain a tea base, mixed/shaken with fruit or milk, to which chewy tapioca balls and/or fruit jellies are often added. Tapioca is the starch extracted from the cassava roots.

In Bangalore, the Big Straw company has been making the rounds with these drinks and let me tell you, we are anything but glad. Their outlets are located in various places in and around the city but we go to the little one on St. Mark’s Road close to the Airlines area.

You can help make your own drink by choosing your base i.e. latte, smoothie, snow, etc to which you can accordingly add either tapioca balls or basil seeds or any of the other fruit-based jellies that on slurping, will pop inside of your mouth revealing the juice within.

Our personal favourites would be Black Current smoothie with Tapioca balls or Mango smoothie with Blueberry balls but don’t restrict yourselves. Explore and create your own drink based on your preferences.

Big Straw sells food to go along with the drinks like pizzas, etc so try one out while you’re at it.

The beautiful St. Mark’s Road will surely add to your mood and make the whole experience pleasant.

Check this place out as the price of the drinks are around 90 rupees which is pretty affordable and do let us know =)

Stay happy, keep smiling and keep drinking boba 😀
